Built around a log cabin from the 1800’s and situated on 105 rolling acres, this home will immerse you in nature and make you forget about city living. The property is home to a picturesque farmhouse, pond, red hay barn, horses, and a short drive from historic downtown Galena. A good portion of the land is wooded and rustic walking trails have been carved out for your enjoyment. Sip from your warm mug next to the hand-carved fireplace or relax on the front porch to observe a 360 view of nature. Each nook and cranny of the home contains spectacular details like reclaimed wood, Scandinavian design, and artifacts from all over the world.
There are 3 ½ bathrooms that offer retreat goers 3 showers with rain shower heads and two bathtubs. All bathrooms have heated floors. Ahhh, cozy.
Staying warm won’t be a problem. The farmhouse is equipped with central heat as well as fireplaces. The great room includes a hand carved Yggdrasil (Tree of Life) fireplace as well as a small fireplace in the music room. Outside there is a firepit if weather is good.
Special Considerations- The location of this home is somewhat remote and therefore no wifi is available and cell reception is spotty/nonexistent, so please prepare. Not to worry, there is a landline for emergencies. Also, horses live on the property and dogs have stayed in the past if you have allergies. No pets are currently allowed.
